The weather is perfect right now on St. Simons Island and across the Golden Isles of Georgia, and the community has some great events scheduled that you are sure to enjoy! Some of the most popular events across the Golden Isles are the outdoor concert events that happen throughout the spring/summer months. Rhythmn on the River, A Little Lite Music, and Jazz in the Park are three such events.
Rhythmn on the River takes place on Saturday evenings from 6-8pm at Mary Ross Park in downtown Brunswick, Georgia and are sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority. Patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, their favorite beverage, and a lawn-chair or blanket. Local artists play a variety of styles while local vendors and distributors often have samplings of different beverages and drawings for prizes from local merchants.
A Little Lite Music takes place on Sunday nights from 7-9pm on the lawn of the St. Simons Island Lighthouse, and are sponsored by the Coastal Georgia Historical Society. Again, patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, their favorite beverages, and a lawn-chair of blanket. Acts play a variety of music.
Jazz in the Park also takes place on Sunday nights from 7-9pm on the lawn of the St. Simons Island lighthouse and features nationally and regionally known jazz artists.
Below you will find a great schedule of events {Thanks to the Brunswick-Golden Isles Visitors Bureau} that will keep you up-to-date all summer long. These events are not only a great way to enjoy our beautiful surroundings and great weather – but are a wonderful way to connect with others in the community.
